Rigid and flexible synthetic decking extrusion products are designed to replicate traditional wooden surfaces and provide attractive replacements for teak decks and trims for ecological, environmental and economical reasons. The PVC decking products are durable, versatile, easy to maintain and can be used for external and internal applications. They have a textured, slip-resistant surface that remains effective when wet. D W Plastics also manufactures various deck trims which can be combined with other decking products to provide a perfect finish for that uniform teak-effect look for internal cabin design and external deck installations. The various trim profiles are made of PVC to look and feel like real wood. Like the PVC decking, they are durable, resistant to water and will not crack or fade like real teak.

Wood or composite decking -- or something else? Like any major home purchase, decking materials vary in looks, durability and cost. Start your reseach here, becoming familiar with types of authentic and synthetic decking. Also, you might want to use certain types of lumber or decking for structural parts of your deck project, and other decking timber for surfaces and railings -- the parts that you will see and walk on.

What follows are descriptions of the materials most widely used to construct a residential deck, including the pros and cons for each type.

Sugar or high fructose corn syrup? Cotton or polyester? Wood or a synthetic alternative? Clearly, there are pros and cons of original materials and their man made mimics, but when it comes to choosing a deck material, is it best to go all natural, or is it better to take the side of technological progress? We at Garuda Decks specialize in outdoor yard construction, and we have put together some of the most notable advantages and disadvantages to constructing with synthetic wood. Here are some of our findings.

Maintenance free products such as PVC plastic and PVC capped composite products are also used as a surfacing material for condo decks and roof decks. There are several high quality manufacturers that we like to work with such as Azek, Timbertech, Fiberon, Gossen and Trex. Their products appear to be very similar to the natural wood products. As their name implies, their require virtually no maintenance, they will not crack or warp. Keep in mind that composite products (unlike plastics and plastic capped composites) should not be used as a terrace cover material. We have seen cases where the home owners have spent thousands of dollars only to find that in two or three years all their boards are covered with mold and are in need of replacement. As the name suggests, WPC combines the properties of wood and plastic offering a highly durable and surprisingly malleable material. Builders, interior and exterior decorators and furniture manufacturers are embracing this magic material across India in a big way. Civic authorities are exploring ways of using WPC in parks and other public properties which should withstand the vagaries of both natural forces and human vandalism. Indian Railways too has shown interest in this composite.

In an age, when science has successfully attempted to increase life-expectancy of man, man's own desire to to create super materials which can withstand extreme heat or cold and yet can be elastic enough to mould it in various shapes has led to WPC.

There is a huge scope for Wood Plastics in coastal areas, where exterior items degrade easily owing to extreme climate. WPC is touted as a good option as it is highly durable and requires least maintenance. Even places like Delhi having extreme climate can be a good market. "It is quite popular in the Middle-East and Australian markets," says Naveen TV, MD, Delta Build Pro, while telling us about the export possibilities.Wood-Plastic composites Recyclability
