Start laying the interlock decking tile from one corner of the area to be covered normally you work from the outer edge of the area and work towards any wall. Place the first tile in position and then lock the next tile into place by pushing down the edge of this tile against the edge of the first tile to engage the special connecting tabs on the sides of each tile. To fit the pipes, posts or corners, you can easily cut the required shape from the tile using a jigsaw or handsaw. Take care to remove any screws which may come in contact with your saw. Making a template of light cardboard the same size as the tile makes the task even easier and avoids any errors in cutting the tile shape. Any screws in cut out sections should be replaced at appropriate points in the remaining part of the tile to ensure that all slats are securely fastened to the base.
