Decide on what to do with the space below your deck
Recycled Wood Plastic Composite (WPC): This innovative material is a combination of recycled plastic and recycled timber and is one of the fastest growing industries in North America and Europe, as the world is forced to confront the growing quantities of waste plastic going to landfills and the depletion of the planets precious timbers. Cosset's EVERTUFF is a breakthrough for recycled plastic manufacturing in Australia and allows specifiers to use recycled materials in areas not possible before. Given its recycled timber content, EVERTUFF is stronger than pure recycled plastic and is smoother and more consistent in its appearance and is available in standard charcoal only. My name is Stephan Beaulieu and I am a deck builder in Montreal. I received a call from a person who used composite decking on their deck and he wanted to know where can he bring his left overs to be recycled because the recycle truck did take them. I did not have enough information to answer his question and told him I will get back to him with an answer. To my surprise I didn't find much information on the net for search like ''recycling composite decking'' or ''Is recycled composite decking recyclable?''
The most informative article I found was Considerations in recycling of wood-plastic composites from 2004. Here's the part that talks about the challenges of recycling composite decking: ''If recycling of the base polymer used in WPC (wood-plastic composites) results in WPC products having less UV- or biological-resistance or reduced structural capacities when compared to virgin polymer-based WPC, then user acceptance will lessen.''
Decking and railing made from wood/plastic composites are widely available. Many use some type of recycled plastic and waste wood that's ground into small wood chips or flour. Composites are more rot resistant and less likely to split or cup than treated wood. They do not contain toxic chemical preservatives and are not attacked by insects. No special tools are required to work with composites. Even though they are excellent for decks and railings, they can't be used as structural lumber. Also available are decking, railing and even dimensional lumber made completely from plastic.
WPC decking is an attractive and very durable and low maintenance decking solution that will withstand the test of time. Each piece is knot free and consistent in size, colour and length, therefore eliminating the search for the perfect piece. The beauty of this eco friendly deck is the look, the close match to natural wood and this unique recycled decking solution has the durability of plastic. Wood plastic composite flooring

Build a deck above ground pool
If you want to build a deck above ground pool, there are some things you should consider before you begin your project. Be familiar with your city's building codes and regulations before you begin building. Not conforming to the regulations can cause you to pay a heavy fine. You are also required to submit a copy of your deck plan for your above ground pool.
Select building materials carefully. Wood is usually used for frames and support structures, while vinyl or rubber is the ideal material for deck surfaces, steps, and stair banisters. If you want an all-wood construction, consider having it stained or finished to protect it from water damage.
Decide on what to do with the space below your deck. Most people convert the space beneath the deck into storage that has a locked gate and wooden lattice around the pool's exterior. Decks additions are among the least complex and most pleasing home improvement projects you can undertake. Built with pressure treated lumber, redwood, cedar, or *Tex, your deck will last for years to come. There are a wide variety of options including attached, freestanding, multi-level, corner styles, octagon, and more.
Trex decking and railing products are made from a unique combination of reclaimed wood and plastic, giving you the best qualities of both materials. The plastic shields the wood from moisture and insect damage, so there's no rotting or splintering. The wood protects the plastic from UV damage and gives your deck a solid, natural feel. It looks great year after year. And because there is no need to spend hours staining or repairing, the enjoyment of a Trex deck is truly timeless.
Many pool owners are replacing wood decks with composite decks, covering cracked concrete with it, or adding an environmentally friendly pool deck to their above ground pool. For the biggest eco-gain, look for composite decking made with 100% recycled materials. In addition, look for composite decking made with a high percentage of "post-consumer" recycled materials, like milk jugs and plastic bottles. Outdoor wood plastic floor
